DIY HOOD

I'm gonna need a light wieght hood over my new stand and tanks!
I would like some input on material and design
I want front doors or possibly a 1/4 lift on each side so I can access the tank easily.
Any input will help!
Gotta house two MH reflectors and two T-5 individual bulbs and reflectors!

I 'm gonna do a double clam shell deal open from both sides!
Gotta get two long piano hinges and two short ones.

Clam shells such as Krishes work great. Might also hook up some pullies for the few time you might want to raise the entire top.
SS hinges?

I wouldn't go without something that would like the entire hood hoop. It is going to be large and heavy. If you ever wanted to re-landscape the tank it could be difficult without.

you should look at how DonW did my hood Adam...its a great design. Also the vent on top really cuts down on the heat build up.
