Well i decided i cant to try to make a sump for my 55 gallon. I have a 20 gallon tank not doing nothing so i wanna sump. I just need help on the materials and the sizes of the stuff ill need. I am gonna try to go the least expensive way i can because i dont have alot of money to spend. Also i do not want to do any drilling on my 55 gallon. Thanks for the help!

Ah yes, a classic link, one of the first I read when deciding to go with a sump. Check that out pork, let us know what you think. Be sure to read the 3 articles at the bottom!

Assuming this a glass tank. You'll need to get a overflow to get the water from the tank down to the sump.

along with one of these.

Second you'd need return pump to get the water back up to the tank.

This is of course the min required, but once you had this you could use the spare 20g you have for the sump.
