I am reading about some organic methods to control my aiptasia anemones. Our peppermint shrimp is forcing us to find other methods. Berghia sounds like a viable method of control, however I am worried about its toxicity. Does anyone have some experience with this invert? I would appreciate your thoughts.

I've purchased Berghia nudi's before. They work. No issues w/ toxicity to my ritteri anemone or corals. But they arent exactly fast, and if you dont have a large population of them, the breeder I bought them from, reccomends that you try something else first. If the Aptasia are too spread out in your system, he Nudi's may not find them before they starve to death. I have tried boiling water, kalk syringes, and Joe's juice prior to the Nudi's. The best result I have had in dealing with these is w/ peppermint shrimp. I bought 4 for use in my 120 display. At least one of them cleaned out the 5 or 6 aptaisia in the tank within 4 days. I have purchased peppermints in the past with no luck in aptasia removal...I think the trick is to buy several in the hopes that at least one will go after the aptaisia.

I agree with the last post peppermint shrimp are cheap and trust me one will work sooner or later

I think they'll breed readily also so a couple of them may turn into 5 or 6 of them!!

Good luck player
