Hi,
I have a 150g tank. I bought it at Petsmart 4 years ago. I believe it is a Perfecto Brand as AGA seems to not make them this big. I just need to know if this tank can be drilled for bulkheads etc? Does anyone knows for sure? I wrote Perfecto, just waiting for a response. TY

I don't know for sure but most tanks you can drill the back or sides, but I wouldn't try to drill the bottom. Hopefully someone will post fact.

Nope I wouldn't drill the bottom. =) that much I know. I drilled my 40 breeder. But the 150 is quite expensive. If anyone knows, please let me know. Also, do you know if the center brace can be replaced with acrylic?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with drilling the bottom... *IF*...:

1. You call Perfecto to be sure it is not tempered

2.Your stand has a solid top, that is flat, level, and true. You can drill oversize holes thru it to access bulkheads.

3. You put the tank on a solid top stand, and cut a piece of blue or pink styrfoam that fits the entire bottom pane of glass and is just slightly thicker than the space between the bottom pane and the top of the stand. This will provide good support for the tank, and as you add sand, rock the water, it will relieve any point load stresses that would otherwise stress the glass and cause a crack.
I have an 11 year old 360 gallon tank w/ a single paned bottom of the same thickness as the sides (5/8"). It has 14 holes in the bottom - and never been a problem.
Let me know if I can be of any help-
T
