I was just curious to know what peoples thoughts were about the dolphin 3000. I was wondering if the this size pump would be sufficient enough to create fairly strong water movement in a 550 gallon tank about four feet below it. Just let me know what you think, thanks

I have 2 of them in my 300, one is the main return pump, one is for the closed loop. Are you going to use this for your main return, or for a closed loop?
I think that you are going to want a little more flow than just one 3000. Maybe someone else could chime in here on the Sequence pumps. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I've got an AM3K on my 75 and it's good flow, but I'm with Charlie....550 gallons and I think you will need more flow.

A few questions for you first though:
1) what do you plan to keep (SPS, LPS, Softies, Fish only, mix of all)?
2) Are you going to use any devices to create random flow (motorized ball valve, seaswirl, ocean motions, etc.)?
3) How do you plan to have your rockwork setup?
4) Do you have a sump and if so, how big is the return pump?

These all will help us determine how much flow might be appropriate in your tank.
