I have two 1 1/2 durso's in my overflows. What is the trick to getting rid of the bubble when they hit the sump. There are so many bubbles they will almost foam. I would like to avoid a felt sock.

Thanks
Don

I couldnt figure a way to get rid of them either , so ended up adding some baffles to the sump to stop them travelling to the return pump.

Don,
I have my hose connected to a "T". Drain hose comes in from the side. One pipe goes up about 8" and is caped with a perforated end cap. The other pipe goes down into the sump and is submerged about 4-6". This gives the bubbles time to escape out the top before the water hits submerged drainpipe. I really works well and as an extra added benefit, the sump flow is much quieter.

Don heres an idea. You have the pipe coming down from the drain. Right under it put a 2 inch pipe coming up from the bottom of the sump. So the water goes down the drain line and to the bottom of the 2 inch pipe and then travel up between the 1 1/2 and the 2 inch. Make sure you glue a cap to the bottom of the 2 inch pipe.
This makes for a kind of baffle and the force at which the water rises from the 2 inch line pushes the bubbles out on top.

That just might work.

Thanks

With that idea you could set up a collection cup on that thing and use it as your skimmer.
