Drilling?

I have a slightly larger tank... but it basically sits in my garage also. I did custom build a stand... so I could have the face of my tank in my family room, framed like a picture... and the rest is out in the garage. Best of both worlds... I get to see into the tank from the main part of my house, and any water mess is on the floor in the garage. Then again, since I've set up my tank like this, I have been able to plumb into my deep sink in the garage, so water changes are just turning a valve... shutting it again, pluggin in a pump, and unplugging it. Woooohooo!!! No more carrying water!!! *grinz*

Sooo....when are you available to custom all my tanks? Guess I should get a house first :p

Instead of drilling, you might want to consider cutting a slot out from the back for an overflow then built an external overflow onto the back of the tank. It will nicer and function much better than the typical bulkhead overflow.

Hm - can glass shops cut that just as easily as a hole? The aquarium has the normal cheap plastic covering the top edges of the aquarium. Is there a design for this somewhere?

Thanks! :)

similar to these (only you would be doing this from the back of the tank instead)
You can probably leave out the teeth also and just cut one solid strip out instead. Better than the teeth IMO.

Actually more like this http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=444094

Wow...that is so neat - I'd love to go out and buy the exact tank I have and get all this fancy stuff done to it (take it to a glass cutting store...there's no way I'd be able to do this!), then just switch tanks - throw the old one up on craigslist :p Hmm...I'm really thinking about it ;)
