I'm looking for comments on going from a DSB to BB in my 75 gal non-drilled tank. I have a HOB Remora C Pro with skimmer box, two 820 Seios, 300 gph Ehiem canister and 8 bulb T5VHO's.

All of the threads I've read talk about needing Ozone, more flow and better skimming to do this.

What do you all suggest as necessary to do this?

Knowing Krisch has been through all of this in the past, looking for comments.

You don't really need ozone.

Good flow to keep waste suspended to that it gets to the skimmer is important though. You'll also find that aquascaping well will be very helpful with the flow.

Good flow like Curt mentioned to keep everything in suspension to be skimmed off, used up by corals or mechanically removed is one of the main things you need. I never used an Ozone ever and kept undetectable nitrates for many months until I decided to take down.

Good luck with the swap over!!! :)

Well, I started this weekend. Pulled all of the rock out and it's "cooking" in a tub on the porch, hoping one month is all it needs. Kids are in the tank, kind of confused as it's wide open. Next weekend, out comes the sand and in goes the Starboard. Going to make some racks this week so I'm ready to go when the Great Memorial Day Sand-Out begins.
