Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

Come on dtd87, This is not nearly enough info to start a thread LOL. Yes pics are required. Tell us more. We know it is 50gal. I know it has been drilled. Lights? Powerheads? Give us some more.

PLLLLLLeassssssse

Working on it all I'll list current equipment in a bit. Rounding it all up >< some missing in move.

I apparently can't edit my first post either.

Everythings moved an the tank is partially stocked, got camera cord and loading pic to the photobucket. So here is the equipment list

50gallon bredder AGA 36x18x19 w/ 700gph glass holes overflow
20 gallon L refugium

200w Aquavia Titanium heater
eheim 1260 return pump
SWC 100BH-F HoB Skimmer
Vortech mp10 es W
and new Koralia evolution 1050

The lighting is a 150w MH pendant hanging over one side the tank until I can afford some new lighting.
(ghetto rigged but who needs to light the other side of the tank anyways)

Pictures of build and current rockscape and everything coming tonight after work or tomorrow afternoon.

Good to hear you have made progress.

You are like the boy who cried Wolf. You keep promising pics. lol I will be sitting in front of this screen all day tomorrow Holding my breath turning blue hoping to see a pic of your tank

Here we go..
Picture as I arrived after Eric (eww) had drilled out the tank and put in the bulk heads

Picture of the 20g Long I'm using as a refugium with a bubble trap before the return section. At this point we had seperated the acrylic panels I had and sealed them in with e-6000.

Pieces all lined up to be glued together for the return and drain line

Here is the 20g L at the apartment on the kitchen sink filled with water doing a leak check. Sitting with a 18inch t-5 light I had sitting on it. Eric glued in a piece of acrylic so it would sit perfectly ontop of the 20g L.

Here was everything starting to come together in the old apartment sitting dry in the spot we choose for the tank

Here it is filled with water starting the cycle. To bad after letting it cycle for 6 weeks we were told we had to switch apartments ( which was a good thing we got a much nicer apartment, but still I had to tear down the tank and move it downstairs which gave me a little die off of the rock

This was the aquascape right before we moved downstairs. I added in all of my old rock from my old 36g that I dried out and let bake in some rubbermaids

Heres how it currently sits with a 150w Pendant on one side temporarily until I can get 2x of the evo led 100w fixtures. I do kind of like how it gives the right side the of the tank a dim lagoon feel. I'm also going to try and change the aquascape again but I'm going to leave it as it is now for probably another week or two.

And last but not least 1 of the 2 fish Eric was babysitting for me along with his favorite coral, I'll post more pictures once I get the rest of my corals back from Eric. Beware this fish is dangerous and has nipped and nearly killed myself and Eric.

More pics as soon as I have everything together.

I'm also looking for macro algae ideas for the refugium. I think I also will be looking for an led light for it instead of the t-5s at some point. But probably in the future :D Thanks for looking and I'm glad to finally have the pictures up. I had a bunch more but they all appear to be way to blurry to post.. Which is not what they originally looked like to me when I had taken them.

I thought about getting some of the vinyl but I kind of like the open back look so I can see inside of the skimmer chambers :D

Thanks for the pics. I passed out three times yesterday waiting. lol
It looks great, it was worth the wait.

Most of them were all blurred but when I took them.. they looked fine. I suppose its the camera.

Thanks, I ended up having an uncle come into town and had to go through the old family hell zone. But I finally posted them after getting my second hang cord to actually recognize the camera. Stupid Cybershots.

It's my birthday 9/7/2011 and I received some money.. not much but enough to buy one of those dj power strips. So hopefully that will help reduce clutter. Anyone have any Ideas how to attach it inside this stand? Is there anything I can add to the stand to make it fit?

Take a board cut a hole in the board for the DJ strip, paint the board black. Mount the board to the inside upright stiles at each end. Mount the DJ strip...Profit.
