effects of PH swings on corals/fish...

with my new tank ive never really tested much for PH and i recently started to add kalk so ive been testing PH a bit more now...i tested it last night right after the lights went out and it was inbetween 8.3 and 8.4 and tested it again this morning and it was between 7.8 and 8.0 so im wondering is there any major ill effects on corals and such with that big of a fluctuation....and what can i do to keep it up at night i allready have a fuge light running at night...and mixed kalk in my ATO...and suggestions?

Hello;

I mix vinegar with my Kalkwasser --- 2-teaspoons Kalk and 45-ml white vinegar. Back off a bit on dosing for a few days until you get the dosing correct. TEST -- before adding in the morning --- I read good to high in the morning.

I am considering installing a dosing pump, if I can sneak it by the wife

If you are that good during the day then just drip the Kalk at night. Many have swings like you with no effect but it is better to try and get it a little less.

i add kalk to my ATO.....and i think i found out why it was good after the lights shut off and it was so low this morning my ATO pump decided to stop working sometime last night....so it wasnt adding kalk you guys know of any type of pump that works better then what im using...i use the JBJ ATO unit with a aqualifter....it seems to not work the best and i have a feeling its going to clog the airline tube real fast...maybe a mj400?
