I want to get a new eheim for a return pump I'm just not sure which one to get. My tank is 90 gallons with a thirty gallon sump tank I have two k4's for the main flow in the tank. Right now I am using a Rio3100 for my return pump but I have it throttled back to about half power. I hate this pump it's loud and I think that it's going out. So I was thinking that the 1260 would use less energy not having to be throttled down as much as the larger one and cost less but still be enough flow. So what does everyone else think?

Thanks,
Brian

I am using the new Rio HF 14 pretty cheap, runs Rio Hyper Flow Pumps / Powerheads Rio 14 HF
840 gph @ 1 ft. / 660 gph @ 4 ft. / Max head 10 ft.
Dimensions 4.9” X 2.5” X 3.2”
I didn't like the old Rio's But the new H.F. is really quiet and you shouldn't have to throttle it down

I have the 1262 on my 80 gallon and love it. It provides return for my tank and also feeds my fuge. If I ever want to open it up all the way for a little extra blast during water changes I can do that too.
I think I read something on Melev's site as well about putting in a T with a gate vale on it that just returns water to the return section of your sump so that you can control the flow that way and it is supposedly better on the pump.
Now that I think about it that's essentialy what I'm doing with my feed to my fuge I guess.
