I'm running my mag levels at about 1500. Someone, cant remember who, stated this would slow and even stop zoanthid growth.

Anyone able to confirm or deny this? I dont know if I'm just imaging it or not, but my zoa growth does appear to have slowed somewhat since raising my mg levels.

While I'm unable to confirm or deny this, I noticed some of my Zoanthids bleached, to a very bright fluorescent coloration, when I elevated my Magnesium to battle Bryopsis. My battle involved increasing my Magnesium, using Kent TechM, from about 1300 to 1700. I can't say I've noticed much new growth, during this time period, though regular coloration did return, though it took a month or so.

Thanks Sid.

Havent noticed anything regarding bleaching that cant be attributed to high light intensity,( all my zoas are in a frag rack just under the waters surface, under dual 250 HQI Phoenix 14k's). I only recently increased mg levels, but the zoas have been under the lights for almost a year.

During a recent mag raising episode in my tank, I noticed my palys weren't very happy. Zoos lost a little color, but all palys were effected. My level went near 1900 for about a week.

Nothing died, but it just took a couple months to get color back
