are these crabs reef safe i have quite a few corals and do not want give it loads to eat except alge i want it to leave my corals alone veiws please.:)

very safe when small. once they get bigger they will go after some smaller fish. I've never seen one eat corals but thye do pull the food out of polyps. I avoid emeralds.

We've got two big ones in a 72g tank that are maybe 2.5" wide (one is green and one is red) and they pretty much stay busy picking at the rocks all the time, but they do tend to poke around at everything when the mood strikes them.

I haven't seen any real damage to our corals other than temporarily closed zoas or seen either one be aggressive (yet maybe?).

We have had great success using green emerald crabs in our reef tanks. They are 100% reef safe as far as my experience goes. They are great for algae control (bubble, hair etc)
