Im going to the lfs tomorrow and was going to pick one of these up for my clown fish will they host it or not???? It is call a Torch Coral i think

It's really a hit or miss with. Each clown fish is different. I have seen clowns host in Frog Spawn and Torch Coral. But it's reall hard to tell if it will or not..

yeah its the clown fishs choice but they are cheap corals and very nice ones euphyllia are sum of the nices lps u can get IMO

My Gold stripe Maroon lived in my frogspawn and Hammer. First he live in the frogspawn. It was HUGE, over 30 heads. It was globe shaped he would actually hide inside, rather than in the polyps, but he would aggrevate the polyps as he swam out to attack passersbys and then swim back in. Over time it would extend less and less, so I fragged it and trading all the pieces off. Then he move on to live in my giant hammer coral. GRRRR!!! He eventually killed that. It took about 8 months. It would put out a few less polyps day after day as his fat a$$ layed there on it. I actually gave it to the LFS for free at the end to try to save it, but to no avail. As soon as that clown is gone in a few weeks I am getting more hammer & frogspawn.

So yes they will roost is LPS, but not so much to the benefit of the coral in my experience.

Getting clown fish= My dumbest mistake yet

I have 2 hammers and a frogspawn, along with a bubbletip anemone. When I brought home my Tomato clown my wife said "Watch, she'll go straight for the hammers and end up killing them." And once the clown was acclimated and out of QT, it went straight for the hammers. Swam right past the anemone! LOL I took my wife out for dinner and told her that by the time we got home the clown would be snuggled into the Anemone..."Don't worry, Honey." She loves the LPS's! --Probably one of the reasons I was able to start this exspensive hobby. Anyway, we got home and there was the Tomato clown buried in the anemone. Happy ending.
