Euroreef rs5-3 will not restart

What would cause my skimmer to not restart sucking air thru the venturi after turming it on. You have to blow air down the air inlet tube to get it to restart.... Ideas? I know the venturi is clean.

prolly an old pump, and possibly magnet has swollen, making it hard to start up properly...
have you checked the impeller?
...and your proof positive the venturi is clear? is there an air valve on the end that is possibly clogged?

The venturi and hose have been blown out with air. the pump seems to move the water it isn't sucking the air.. If the pump isn't moving the amount it is supposed to then it wouldn't start the suction?? Where can I get a new pump impeller/ magnet assembly and when could you mesh mod it>>>
