I will have to hide this thread from my wife:shock:

Anyone ever wondered what someone elses setup costed them (especially me living in the Bahamas)? I just worked out how much I've spent on what I have actually setup now. This doesn't include any test kits, food, filters I don't use anymore, filter media, things I just have spares of (ie aqualifters, lockline tubing, ends, prefilter cartridges etc), cleaning supplies, etc. Just the equipment you see when you look at my 75 gal setup and I'd say...Consider yourselves lucky to live where you do, if they sell these things in your country and you don't have to pay any shipping to the Bahamas and about 50% (on average) customs duty! Everything I have that operates my tank or what you will see if you walked into my place and saw my tank, worked out to be about $5,200.00! I don't want to even begin to imagine what I've spent so far with the hobby and what else I have left to still buy!

That's what they call it? Paradise?(LOL) Looks more like a zoo to me with all these monkeys running around:lol:

ohh dood that's a lot of money , but it's all worth it .

Yeah, I'm not complaining...My wife does, but that's a different story. Wait until she hears the words chiller after I get my new lights:D

well you can always talk to her about the nice piece of baby furniture she's getting :) ;) AND you haven't even started the nano tank in the baby's room... so you have plenty of work and money to spend dood.

hmmm i see, well in that case you can add your signature :D and may be put a screw driver and said you helped making it  and even with other things... just pretend you're working on them and because you help they cost a lot :D .

at least you dont own a boat! now thats expensive! whoooweee! were talkin money pit! it would be cheaper to pay someone to ride around town on a bike and throw out dollar bills all day long! and then you get to put fuel in it! and we complain about $2.50 a gallon! and then you gotta clean it, and wax it, and vac- um waita minute- um you DO have a boat!!!- um sorry-hahaha just kidding! LOL!

This is my motto about my tank, Its better if you just dont think about it. Works great. Sometimes I have to put my fingers in my ears and go Lalalalalalalalalalala. Sooner or later they will just go away and leave me alone. LOL

I have spent around $2500 on my 125g so far, but it has only been setup for about a month. I got the tank for free so that helps.

I roughly estimated that in the last 5-6years, total expense for everything excludeing electric bill has been about $700. That covers 8 tanks (only currently have 3) from agressive fresh to reef.

Now, compaired with what my damn racecar costs me, aquariums are basically free.

Custom de-stroked cranks run about $3,500, forged Ti rods (if you didnt design the and work for the company that makes them :D), and custom pistons and valves get really really damn pricey.

A single miss-shift means you get to watch those exotic parts bounce all around on the pavement. I know, its happened 4 times to me now...

Consider yourselves lucky you don't have customs duty!(LOL) Luke...try 75% duty on car parts and those of you who are motobike freaks...try 100% duty! I'm not worried about my tank(LOL) The price just goes to show I'm enjoying it:p And No...No boats;)

you knwo it's funny... i seriously have no clue have much i have spend in my tank :p.
I know some of you keep records, but for some reason i just seem to forget.
