Okay, so who saw the Extreme Makeover show on ABC on Jan 10th? The show is a home makeover show that renovates and builds a huge home for a family in like a week.

Well in this particular show, they put a fish tank in it. And one of our very own put together the tank for that house. The Shark Reef ... I only saw glimpses of the tank, but how cool is that????

It is very kewl. The sad thing though is the show didn't even mention it...at least not from what I recall. You only saw a brief glimpse of it in the episode as well.

Also Komo news did a special about the house and I didn't even see the tank at all in that piece.

damn news!

i thought there was some on Shark Reef's web page but I just looked and couldn't find them. Hopefully they'll share pictures with us.

He supplied the tank and all to make it work for the house go check it out at www.abc.com and see the new bed and breakfast house they built. Thanks Eric for giving a needy family the joy of a reef tank! He even takes care of it for free! He also paid for all the materials for me to build the stand and canopy for it. Larry at IAP went with us to install the system and IAP give a Dolphin pump for the tank. It was a great time and very amazing how the hole Northwest came together to do this. This is a great part of America and i'm grateful to live here. Thanks Dave

It sure was fun to be a part of and I have got to know the family better than most since I am doing weekly maintenance on the tank for them. I was a little disappointed that they didn't show the fish tank a little more but what do you do? They only taped 500 hours of film for 2 hours woth of shows. At least we weren't the people that put in the hot tub or grill in the back behind the house, they didn't even show that!

Anyways...I still had a lot of fun and enjoyed being a small part of the show. As for those of you that wanted pictures here are some from the day we set up the tank and the morning that we put some fish and corals in. Amazingly enough the tank is doing absolutely awesome!!! Now since the show has been aired I can take more pictures of it. I will try and get a updated picture of it this week.

Here are some previously posted pictures...

Wow, thats great! Congrats to all that helped with that project. I completely missed the other thread - the pics are cool. Look forward to more!

For those of you that watch this show they are in the process of doing another home in Port Orchard right now. (Nov9th - 15th, 2005) I was contacted about possibly doing a tank again but was waiting for the go ahead. Unfortunately I just heard that they do not want to do a tank on this episode. Bummer:( But I'm glad to see that they are back in our area helping another family.

I took care of it for the past year and just recently handed it off to them to take care of. They stopped by a week or so ago and said it was still doing great! I wish I had a chance to do it again, but I understand that not everyone likes fish and you don't have to have a fish tank on every show.

I'd like to see a special where they go back to those homes and see how the families are doing, or whether they are taking care of their new places. I'm sure they are, but I would be curious to see.
