Well... as some may know, I receintly bought a new house. In the process of moving my tank, I decided that instead of setting it up in the family room, I would cut a whole in the wall, and flush mount it, with the sump and everything else being out in the garage.

Deciding to do this in the middle of moving wasn't the smartest of ideas... and ended up taking me 3 days longer to get my tank back up and running. In that time, I also wasn't prepaired enough to even think about adding heaters to my Brute's with my live rock in it. Long story short... 60 degree water isn't very friendly on corals and cleanup crew. :(

Thats now been over 2 months ago now... and things are back on the right progression. Since Krish reminded me that I haven't shown any pictures of my setup... figures it was about time to try and get some posted here.

I have a cheapo little digital, that doesn't take the best of pictures... but here goes.

Thanks for the kind comments all!

Yea... I figured you would find this thread Krish! :p

As for recovering, its happening, just slowly... which is usually a good thing in our hobby anyway. :) The entire mess did have the benifit of helping me decide to move to a SPS dominated tank, and learn about how THAT challenge goes for Reefers, which I had been wanting to attempt for some time anyway. I have noticed that even my fish seem to be happier now with the Closed-Loop in the tank. I guess more current just helps them get their excercise (uummmmm... whatsit???) and they are all looking much healthier now due to that! :)

What I enjoy MOST now though... is my weekly water changes! No more carting water!!! *Woooohoooo*!!! Just turn a valve... empty water from sump into deep sink across the garage... shut valve... plug in Mix-Pump... fill sump back up to line. DONE!!! :D :D

wwouu dood very nice !!
now i hope that when i move into our new home, i don't loose anything because last time i lost some snails and all my xenia :( .

My main problem was that I didn't plan ahead for the added time to put a whole in the wall, build a stand, level, add closed-loop... that type thing. Just plan your move, and try your best to take care of your fish AND corals as needed in that move.

Looks good Ed. I see you got the fuge and spot for the QT in the garage shot. Is the shot from the front new?...with all 4 halides or just 3?

Yuppers... Fuge stand was made with the idea that I'm adding a QT in the near future... so built the shelf for that while I was at it.

All of the pictures I just took last night guy. Its just my darn camera, and my lack of photography skills that make everything look as dark as they do. When I tried without a flash, everything was too dark around the tank, and with the flash I get the brightspot.

good job ed the whole thing came out realy nice. keep those pics coming cheap camera or not....

If I were to guess then...the right side has the 10K and 20K and the left side has the 10K only?? Are you still running the VHOs?

Thanks Steve... as always seems to be the case with a Reef Tank... its a "Work-In-Progress". :)

Yes, I still run my VHO's along with the MH lighting Travis. Even though the 20K's do bring out some of the greens, I feel the Actinic VHO's bring out more. I'm also using the VHO's for a "dusk/dawn" type effect also.

I know what you mean. lol I am moving my fuge above my 75 and trying to figure out how to do it without seeing the framing. why cant I just leave hings alone????......lol

I think all the little projects are what keep us interested in this hobby! :D

Ed, that is a really nice setup!!!!!!! that looks like it took some serious hours to put together!!!! good job

My Better-Half would tell you I spend more time in the garage than I do with her! :D

It seems like I keep adding something new, little by little. Still need to get a good QT tank setup (not sure if 29 will work... may shoot for 55), then my last major project will be a motorized ball valve on my closed loop.

About the time I get that all done, I figure I should be ready to extend my garage, so I can build a new tank.
