I am always so intrigued by these creatures. I have a few questions regarding them. How do they multiply??? I am seeing more and more in my tank, and was wondering what's going on. Also, how large can the rock feather dusters get? I have been finding some real beauties lately. I have a bright fushia pink one growing on a piece of rubble. What gives them their different colors? And lastly, I picked up some rock from the ocean that had some duster tubes on it. Will they eventually grow back?? Ok a ton of questions.... I'm just curious

Becky thier are a lot of different kinds of dusters. They are basically worms that live with in the tube and expose thier feather like tail to capture and filter food. I have not seen to many of the larger types propagate or multiply. But the smaller dusters (with the hard white tubes, very tiny) do multliply like crasy. As per color that has to do with the type of worm it is. Lets see a picture of the colored one you have

the most numerous i can easily see are in white tubes with bright red feathers but kinda small. i've never seen big tubes such brilliantly red as the small ones.

This isnt from my tank. But someone from another forum ended up getting these in his filter/skimmer a year after the tank was setup.
