got a new 6" Naso in a 140g (Soon to be moved to a 300g)
i was told to just take algae from the fuge and clip it on the glass.
the fish attacks the grape algae and the chaeto but lots of it ends up in the tank.
should i be worried about the algae growing all over my tank now or will she keep it in check?

thanks :)

I feed mine mysis with the rest of my fish and also I put the sheets of algae on a clip about every 2-3 days that my rabbit fish and naso both eat. He also pecks at the rocks all day grazing on the algae.

he does that with dry sea weed too!! most of it just gets shreded and ends up stuck in the LR!!! messy fish! poops like a horse

nasos are messy fish (along with most other tangs)... because of their high activity, i would suggest feeding nori daily along with the mysis and other foods that you already feed... when i had my naso, desjardini, and clown tang, they ate a whole sheet of nori every day plus mysis 4 times per week, cyclopeze 3 times per week, formula one and two flakes every other day and an occasional treat of decapsulated baby brine shrimp... all three were in the 6-8 inch range and between 3/4 and 1 inch thick... IMO, tangs need a lot of food to stay healthy and grow properly... remember, dont just keep them alive, make them thrive :) all 3 were in my 120g tank and i had zero problems with aggression... their new owner (600g tank that is 8'x4') doesnt feed as much and curses the clown tang because he is super aggressive in his tank and has already threatened the lives of his gold flake angel, 10" blochii tang, and his 11" crosshatch trigger pair ;)

so on daily basis, in a 140g system with 4 x 1.5" fish + 1 x 6" Naso, how much should I be feeding?
On Naso's first day I thought I'd treat her and she ate 4 sheets of dry sea weed. today she ate one in like 30 seconds. I've never had a big fish so i just don't know how much is too much. should i just give her as much as she wants????!!!!!!

I feed my 4 tangs about 1 full sheet of algae a day (full sheet if bought at LFS, 1/2 sheet of grocery store nori). They are all doing well on that amount. They also get some of my homemade blender mush which also has some algae in it (along with clams, scallops, mussels, shrimp and salmon eyeballs in this last batch).

Talk about messy eaters! The Naso seems to like to tear the algae off right below the clip and then they all chase the sheet around the tank and play tug-a war with it.
