I bought 10 peppermint shrimp to clean up some aptesia that I had going on in my new tank and now that it is gone should I be feeding them? I don't have any fish in there just live rock.

Holy cow....you got a whole army there :) I only got two in my 46 gal and I feed them frozen brine shrimp because aiptasia didn't last too long with those guys.

I don't feed my direct. I only have 1 that I transferred from my 29g to my 75g, but he just cleans up scraps from what the fish don't eat. Toss in whatever you'd normally feed fish and they'll eat it.

I was just wondering because they are always picking at things on the rock that came out of a tank that was 8 years old.

They will try to find whatever they can to eat, as they prefer the live foods off the rock, but eventually they will run out. With 10 of them, the rocks alone wont be able to sustain them long term. 10 is alot lol.

Exactly. Go buy some frozen krill and mysis or whatever else you want and feed them just like you would fish.

I know it is a lot but I got a good deal on them and I had a lot of aptesia. I already have krill and myisis shrimp frozen cubes that I feed my african cichlids. I'll give some to them tonight.

I put a cube in there and a bunch of bristle worms came out but didn't get to it in time before the shrimp stole it. Even some little white bugs came out to eat it pretty cool.
