Currently in my tank I have this (36 gallon bowfront)

(this tank was originally a 10g nano)
A 200w heater
A protein skimmer
2 koralia nanos
and a aquaclear 50
25lb of live rock (tank barely stocked looking for more rock currently)

Tuesday my Vortech Mp10 es is coming I'm wondering if when I use this should I keep using the Koralias and the Aquaclear?

Or keep the koralias and eject the Aquaclear?

All depends...

The Aquaclear gives you a place to put some chemical media, otherwise I suppose you could put some in the output of your skimmer if that's possible.

The Koralia nanos could be used to help create some chaotic flow with the Vortech with the K-nanos always on and then varying the Vortech. But then that kind of depends on your aquascaping and what you want to do with the tank.

I don't see any issues with keeping everything, but it just depends on how much room you have and how you want to use that room...

What kind of media would you use? I thought about keeping the nanos like you said but I'm going to play around with it all. and see what happens.

I run carbon, GFO (granulated ferric oxide), and Purigen pretty much all the time - but that's just me.
