well as some of you might know, i've never had a canopy ......my beloved tooth brushes always held up thoes lights like there was no tomorrow for them.... but now, it's time for me to let them retire (sort of ) so they can live peacefully in my cabinet until the time comes when there's another emergency .

here's a pic of one of them working .

now here it's their replacement .

now if you ask me after all these years waiting for a canopy....... i hate it :lol: .
i mean it makes the tank looks prettier but i feel like now my tank has little light (the light went up an inch) and not only that but there's a spot in the middle where i don't get to much light ..... which i never had that with my tooth brushes :lol: ..... my buddy Krish thinks it's all in my head and i'm trying to think that it's all in my head but we'll see..... i might go back to my tooth brushes.
now to make me feel better .... my husband used to say.... you might not have a canopy but at least you got nice corals ......... well now it's all the opposite..... your tank looks like crap but at least you got a canopy :lol:

But I didn't see any fans/vents..... U might want to pay extra-close attention to your tank temp for a few days....
(I know my 80 gal tank gets pretty hot with just 1 MH bulb running!)

yeah that's the only thing we didn't put..... the back is sort of open and on the sides there's a little bit of opening too.
we're gonna make some holes in the middle and put some fans in there just to make sure.

Nice hood! The lack of light in the middle is probably caused by removing the toothbrush. The part of the toothbrush that was hanging down in the water was reflecting light to that part of the tank. Just kidding, it looks great.

do you remove the canopy? .... i just did a water change and all i can say is .... what a pain in the butt that was ..... hmm or may be i'm just a wimp but seriously do you remove your canopys? ....seriously i got all sweaty about that water change :shock: :lol:

it looks really good and i like how the tank looks now but now everything is hard to reach since i'm short ... last night i tried feeding my brain and for the life of me.... i could not do it, i had to tell the husband to lift up the thing so i could go feeding my coral ..... i can't believe how much attached i am to my tooth brushes :lol: .
