Hi all

Last night I removed a lot of my rock as part of my CB shrimp search. When I put it back I tried to change up my architecture a bit but really I would need to buy different rock to create the look I want (but that's another subject...)

I found a couple pieces of long missing corals, that had fallen off. They've spent months on the bottom in the dark and are now completely white with a bit of green tinge on them. One used to be a purple slimer and the other I can't remember what it is.

Is there any point in keeping these in the tank or should I throw them out?

If you can detect any tissue on them, keep 'em! If the green tinge is algae, they are now rubble :(
Be aware that the level of light that they are used to is really low, and move them back into high light gradually. You may lose them all, but if you save any you will feel pretty good. My opinion. Good luck! D

We lost an orange digitata once and found it months later...it still had polyps so we just did pretty much as danno14 described - slowly acclimated it back to the tank light and now, maybe 2 months later, it has most of its color back and is starting to grow again...I should note we started with indirect light and moved it back over to direct light over the course of a month or so.

Come to think of it we found a piece of a green monti cap the other day that had also been missing for months, too...it was even still green and probably doubled in size.

Good luck!
