Good job Fishy,
And with that thing that high, you will sure need optics. Good job.

Question, though.
I see that you cracked open your driver but missed the resistor part... how did you adjust your driver without the resistor? and what 10 volt adaptor you ended up using?

Congrats, enjoy.

Cesar

hey thanks man. your build was the first i saw that inspired me to try my hand at it. here is a pic of the dial i used to control the power to the led's, don't know the type brand of meter used but am running the led's at 84% per rapid led recommendation. i believe the dial to be some sort of resister/potentiometer?

Cant remember the exact number but it was a little over 100 bucks + odds and ends. Over all i am happy with the build and love the look over my corals and fish, didn't notice much (if any) diff in growth from my t5 actinics vs the led's.

Suurrreee go for it..... Im about to start a thread for a build led on my Oceanic Nano Cube.... composed of 10 watt emitters...

Are the LED's going to be in the hood, or is it going to be an open top with an adjustable height. The reason I say this is because I did a build on my Aquapod using 4x10w (cw), 4x10w(rb) and 1x10w (rgb) and it was an amazing amount of light. Even dimmed down, so my suggestion would be to have the ability to raise and lower it as well as dimming. But who am I talking to you already knew that. Have fun with the new build.

If you were asking me, I have 6x10 watts right now on a 19x19 tank. And Im still building another 6 for a total of 120 watts on a 30 gallon cube. No dimmers and no optics. Lets see how it ends.... will start a thread soon. Sorry for hijacking.

the led light i had built prior had adjustable wires for hight over water as well as dim-able driver. i will probably do the same setup for optimal flexibility. need to do a cost benefit analysis as to how much its going to cost for the led setup vs keeping the MH led mix

second led build underway, got the wiring basically done with , 20 royal blue, 20 white, 6 uv, 2 red, 2 cyan, 1 green, 2 blue dual 120mm fans going to be mounted tomorrow along with hanging kit, going to try and mount drivers and wiring in easy to access configuring under canopy so it may take a bit of time till its ready to roll, idk see how it goes i guess

Those pics are sure inspirational! Does anyone have a website suggestion or two for those of us who might want to look into doing this also?
