Firworms or bristle worms?

From what I've read there is only 1 kind of fireworm that is a coral eater, Hermodice carunculata. And I think they are rather rare to find in an aquarium but possible. I would just keep an eye on it and if it shows no intrest in corals consider it a beneficial member of your reef janitors. Wear non powdered gloves when playing around in there so you dont get stuck. But if you do manage to get some bristles in your fingers, warm white vinegar will disolve the bristles and take some of the itch away.

When I asked Leslie about them, I believe she said they were the same thing. Can't remember LOL! I move the thread to her forum to get her take and if I find the thread where I asked about it, I will post it here. :)

They don't have any brown what so ever. These guys border between really pink to pinkish red and don't seem to go after the corals or bother anything, but my wife says she doesn't like them and they gotta go, she doesn't trust them. Sooooo, you know they don't have much of a future in the aquarium. I also read that there was only one type of fire worm that you don't want in the aquarium, and they don't look anything like that. Thanks for your observations, I really appreciate it.

Thanks Krish, all I know is now I have worms, er, the aquarium has worms. I will keep an eye on them, I would think if they were bad that something would have happened by now to the corals. But I guess they are coming out anyway.
