I am looking for a link to a fish compatibility guide. I have no problem finding one that show the compatibility between fish species, but I am more interested in one that shows compatibility between different types of fish within a single category. Examples would be, what tangs get along with each other and which don't, or blennies, etc. etc. Does anyone know where one of thes charts be found. When I Google it, all I get is the same old charts that show compatibility beween species.

I go there quite often, but without having to read the description of every fish, I can't seem to find the right chart I am looking for. Their compatibility guide is only for comparison between species, that's not what I am looking for. I may be not looking in the right place on their website.

Hey Earl, I'm not sure you will find what you are requesting since there are so many variables ie: size and/or maturity of said fish, size of tank, existing inhabitants and order of introduction etc.... etc...
Being said though, Scott W. Michael's "Reef Aquarium Fishes" does a fair job at listing pros & cons of different species in reaction to related and non-related species. Bob Fenner's book also has some good info on subject.

Cheers, Todd

Thank you Todd, I will check that out. Regarding Bob Fenner's book, are you talking about The Conscientious Aquariuist Guide or something like that?

if you go to liveaquaria.com...they have a general compatibility chart...simple to use for quick references, dr foster and Smith also sell a book on inter species relations....tangs with tangs, blennies with blennies and so forth

Thanks, I knew about the livaquaria chart. TJL told me about a couple of books to get, so I will those when I can sometime. Can't afford them right now, wife just had triple bypass surgery, so the medical will have to be paid first. It is just a curiosity thing, not something I need right now. My tank is at capacity now, and everybody is happy, except for quick little, get out of my space chases. Thanks macdawg, I appreciate your help.
