I have a flame scallop and it has burrowed down between the rock and the glass and hasn't moved at all. It has been closed up for a couple hours and i was wondering if i should be concerned. My water tested normal and everything else looks happy.

Flame scallops are one of those creatures better off left in the ocean. We cannot feed them properly, In captivity they don't live very long. I wouldn't worry too much about it, there isn't anything you can do, if anything you would just stress it more.

i had one for a good year. till a move. He was in a species tank with a yellow sea apple i wouldnt say impossible but i had to dripp pytho 24 a day for a 20gallon tank, the water all ways had a green tint to it . best of luck though but in general i agree with skinz

Flame Scallops are huge filter feeders. Unfortunately, there's hardly ever enough plankton for them to eat in our water column. I agree with Skinz, they should be left in the wild. Hopefully, a study of possible purchases, in advance of the purchase, will prevent uninformed purchases in the future.

I also don't know that I'd mess with it. It might further stress it. If it decides to move on it's own, you might try putting it in the refugium. You can also attempt to spot feed it, but I doubt it'd be very successful.
