i have a 75 gal glass tank drilled for 1 1/2" over flow and 1" return. The over flow is 3 1/4" from edge of tank and 1" from bottom of top bracket. I am using a 2" pvc elbow in tank. would like something different like an internal overflow box. going to sump. as far as my return i need to know how to get the best water. for circulation. for detritus removal and dead spots. any suggestions, pictures and places to get plumbing internal overflow box from would be helpful.

This is how I did mine, I know it is not the best way. Closed loop is much better. It does however seem to work well for me. HTH Steve

I find the overflow boxes made by Amircle are cost effective. You wouldn't need the whole kit, you could just get the actual skimmer box and modify it to fit your overflow tube. Just a drill and hole saw. As far as return...I would get a magnum 350 return elbow (about $10 around me) and some 3/4 id line with a mag drive 300 for your return pump. This is a very simple set up that is easy to use and put together. One more personal tip...I like to use ribbed tubing for my overflow...this creates more water disturbance going down, thus aerating water better!
