Fluidized sand bed

does anyone know if a Fluidized sand bed will cause high nitrates in a saltwater tank?

Well the concept of a fluidized bed is to trap waste and detritus, so if you leave it to long it will begin to build up.

I thought so too...i had to ask just to here it from someone else....i have one running on my tank (just because i had it) but i think i am going to remove it this week. I keep having a nitrate problem and have eliminated everything but this filter.
