A euro friend of mine was telling me he used a non-toxic foam sealant that came in a can to hide his plumbing in his tank. He stated that the foam when cured looked like a natural formation and made his tank much cleaner looking. He stated he even had his pump plumbing hidden this way and has the out flow hidden in the hardend foam thus you have no unsightly jets showing. Seems a great way to hide the plumbing.

Well after a long search I have yet to find a can foam product that states it is non-toxic.

Has anyone else used a product to do this and if so what?

ive seen it covering the whole backs of tanks. you can also mix in sand shells rubble rock and make some pretty cool shelves and shapes. frags also stick right into it.

Sigh, So far all I am finding is the Black Water Fall Foam.

Was hoping to find some other product in a more netural color.

Guess I have to widen my search some.

Has anyone used the more popular home sealant foams like those gotten at the home improvement super stores? Just wondering if these are non toxic after curing?

Oh well off to search some more :)

I've used it in my pond to secure rocks, but never in an aquarium. It was just the normal stuff sold at the hardware store. My fish seem to not be bothered by it, but it is a pond.

my lfs uses it and doesnt seem to have a problem. he actually now sells sheets pre made. next time i am there I will get a pic probably in 2 weeks.
