I found a little 3/4" dia. yellow ball sponge that was on the underside of a piece of live rock I've had for maybe a couple of months. I gently pulled it out of it's crevice and place it in a crack of my rock so I see it more, is there any special requirement for this little guy? It was getting almost no light, so now i have it pretty low in tank on some rock (and will it attach itself eventually?).

hard to say without a pic/ID... but most such sponges that grow naturally in aquaria thrive on available nutrients and need little direct care/feeding.

Water flow is most important (having enough)

i have found several yellow ball spongfes in my tank, if they get to much light they kinda loose the bright yellow.

its likely a calcareous species. Do recall the origin of your live rock and look up that locale. Dive books often peg these odd IDs. Some great region-specific natural history and dive books at seachallengers.com
