Along with the mysterious cone snail, I found four baby fish in my tank; I think they are chalk basselets.

PS. I don't have any adult chalk basselets in my tank, they must have arrived as an egg on a piece of coral or plant I ordered.

that's crazy!!!! i have never heard of a hitchhiker fish!!!!!! i would like to get some "hitchhiker tangs"!!!!

ive heard of them coming in on florida aquacultured rock before.

wow - I'd love to know what they look like when they grow up - how cool.
What are you feeding them? Rotifers?

I've put them in a 29 gal with a lot of copepods, grinding up flake food and feeding chromaplex and whatever small food i can find.

Cool find! I dont think they are chalk basslets though, google trimma goby and there are lots of pictures that resemble that in some way. A trimma goby will only get about 1/2" or so full grown.
