I have a 90 gallon tank and for fish i have 3 green chromis, 2 true perc clownfish, lawnmower blenny, royal gramma, purple firefish, yellow watchman goby, flame angel and my foxface. He is not normal though every time someone goes up to the tank even me he freaks out hides and waits till everyone goes away but what makes me mad is he freaks out like 20 times a day and when he gets scared he scares all my other fish and then they hide too. They only hide for a min or two but it happens constantly all day long. Is there anything i can do to change this bahavior? Ive had the foxface a little over a month.

I noticed that my Foxface was extra skittish after being transferred from my 40 gallon to my 120. He HATED being caught and acted pretty traumatized by it all. He's slowly been getting over it, except when I have any kind of container in my hand...

I would say give it some time and hopefully he will associate you with food. :)

As Jan said it is actually quite normal for this behavior & does take a long time for them to adjust. That is why I usually tell people to locate tanks that aren't in high traffic areas. The other fish freak out because the spines are poisonous & when he is like this his color changes & his fins flare & they sense this.

I had the same problem , I bought this foxface on special and it hid from the moment I released it . I went back to the shop and asked if that was why it was on special as it mental problems . He offered me two more at cost price which I acepted (what a good man ?) . I added the two new fox faces and like magic the three amigos had been reunited . The problem was fixed
