Ok here is a few questions.

How often do you have to frag corals? <light pending, lets say they are 10k bulbs>

In relation to the first question, does Carol grow back extending from the same branch?

I take it frogspawn splits, same with hammers and torches, etc.?

Reason I am asking is, I only have a small tank. I don't want anything that would hinder the growth of anything else I have. This will help me decide what I want to put in the tank. Not that I don't want the maintenance, I think thats the best part of the system. I just don't want to have stuff that will grow and not find homes for.

Dangit, sorry I thought I started this thread in the coral descussion area. My bad. If you want to move it thats fine with me.

Frag corals when you want or need to.

Depending on the health of the system, an acropora will cover a fragged area with tissue pretty quickly (some instances just a couple of days).

LPS depend on the particular a coral - A frogspawn that grows in a wall shape (one piece of coral the LPS emanate from) then fragging could be more challenging and much more traumactic for the coral.

However some Frogspawns grow on individual small heads. Snapping a head off in this case does not affect the entire animal.

So there is not set schedule or timing. Some people frag to Bonsai control the growth in their tank. Some people frag to make some money each time a new gadget appears on the market. Some people frag when their friends stop by to share.
