I have a stupid question I'm sure.

Is freezer burned food fish and coral safe?

I have some old frozen large mysis shrimp and some silversides. I was gonna grind up some LPS food if it's still safe.

Brett... I love how posted your question in the new to reefkeeping forum when you are a veteran here :lol: As for the food, it might still be good but I personally probably wouldn't chance it.

I've fed frozen foods that I had let get freezer burned. The fish thumbed their noses up at me, and a couple wrote a bad critique, but none seemed worse for the ware. It's probably not quite as nutritional as more fresh frozen foods, but I can't see it doing any harm.

Thanks guys. I have always thrown that stuff out. I think I may make up a little coral food.
