fresh set up fresh problems

I use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals testing supplys and i am using the regular fuval media nothing that didn't come with the filter

I'd personally ditch all the sponges inside of the filter unless you are willing to pop it open every 2-3 days to change or clean them and not use that bio-media in there as it really isn't needed and will just trap detritus and degrade water quality. Your live rock should provide you with all of the biologiocal filtration you will need and so most people with canisters just run carbon in there, but it's totally up to you

well after me getting all freaked out it turns out that my tester was bad. I had Rob at the shop test it for me and he found nothing at all in there so I am ok thank god. Here I am thinking that my aquarium is in a massive melt down and it is fine. Other then the "Red stuff" on my life rock ( which I got something to take care of it with ) I think that I will be able to have fish in it soon. I will start a thread when I get pics of it all set up.
