Hey all, just had a quick question. I have/ had a healthy two head frag of frogspawn. Well last week i noticed that it was starting to split into another head. Since I've noticed that it has seemed not to open fully. Nothing's changed in the tank and everything is doing great but i didn't know if it was acting up because of the splitting or something has happened to it thanks

Probably just resting from the split :) Give it a week. Check your parameters just to make sure nothings amiss.

Perfect thanks so much for the response. Maybe you can answer this next question. My tanks kinda going crazy. Everything seems to be splitting at once. To list a few are recordia. Grassy mushrooms. That frogspawn. Pulsing Xenia and then my open brain had grown another mouth. Will that split into two open brains or will it be one with two mouths? And is there like a season or something when corals split?

Could you please tell us more about your system? Exact parameters and lighting? Are you dosing anything? Could be you have a very happy tank! :) As for the Brain I'm no expert but usually when an LPS splits it becomes 2.

Oh yeah forsure. I've got a biocube 29g. About 40lbs of live rock, live sand, stock lights. Then just the add on uv steralizer and protien skimmer. I switch the lights close to every 6 months. I'm using Red Sea pro salt. And then rodi water. The tanks been running for close to a year not. Every other week 5g water changes and I don't dose but do add some iodine every two weeks. Livestock is two ORA platinum clowns. Three firefish gobys and a tiny baby blue tang for just now until he can go into a big tank.and a large clean up crew. Then the corals. Perimeters are
Temp:72
salinity: 26
nitrates:0
Nitrites:0
ph:8.2
and ammonia is 0. I don't test for others because I'm taking red seas word and it seems to be good so far

I should have been more specific. Need your ALK, Ca and Mag readings.
Sounds like a pretty nice tank :) May I ask why your dosing Iodine? Unless your able to test for it I wouldn't. Plus with your water change schedule I highly doubt you need to be dosing that especially.

Brains will not split into 2 brains I assume you talk about this species Trachyphyllia. They just have 2 mouths like mine brain, and it is a sign of growing brains.
