Hi all,
I have a question I would like opinions on.
First some background. I have a ~ 1year old reef (65 gallon) that has been running on a fuge & skimmer. I have added a 125 reef to the house (yes, happy wife - not). The 125 has good skimming alone - no fuge. Anyway, I have both systems on adjacent walls of the living room & have decided to connect them into a single sump / fuge to simplify water changes, conditions & headaches.
That said, has anyone ever moved fuge sand? The existing fuge is a 20 gal modified to have ~ 5" deep and bout 12" x 12". The remainder of the sump area is for the skimmer, heater, return pump etc. There is much life in it and I want to preserve as much as possible. My plan is to add it to a section of a 56 gallon glass tank that will have a section of low flow that will be similar in area.
Any thoughts?
Best Regards,
