I have a little Hippo Tang with Ick
I have have been reading about garlic with there food.
How do i go about preparing this .
What typ eof garlic do i need ect... (the more info the better)

Thanks in advance

That is my plan but because my quaretine tank is in the process of being set up i would liek to try the "voodoo methods" also :)
Can't hurrt to try

Garlic is just to help a not-eating fish eat(the flavor), and it's supposed to boost immune system. It may help keep up resistance to ick, but as a cure for a current infection, probably not.

I've started off a few hard-to-eat butterflies & tangs by crushing a small clove and then I rubbed a frozen cube of that algae supplemented hikari brine in it for a sec, then defrosted it in a cup of my tank water and fed. I'm not certain on a fish OD'ing on garlic, so i do it lightly, just enough for flavoring.

A Q/T tank is optimal, but since it appears one is not cycled in your case...

In a similar case, I have cured acute ich infections in my tank with garlic suppliments and cleaner shrimp (couldn't tell you which is more effective). However, once I had a Q/T tank setup, I removed and quarantined all fish ifrom the show tank for 6 weeks to make sure the ich lifecycle was halted.

One thing about that article, no studies either way has been done to prove that garlic in any way helps fish with ICK, there is lots of science out there but from the results I saw using garlic as a supplement even though it isn't conclusive I'd surely use it again. They mention people loosing fish even while using garlic but these fish may of been on their way out already anyway I agree a QT is the best way, you must make sure you QT long enough to rid your tank of ICK. I guess this goes back to if you QT everything first you wouldn't have this happen, not that I'm lecturing but only to myself lol.
