Gen X submersible GX1000 Pump

I have a few tanks of different sizes in need of some serious skimming. Thinking about constructing some skimmers. Tanks between 55-75 gal. Anyone had much experience with this pump? Think it would do a good job? I have never witnessed one and have no clue what the needle wheel looks like. Can’t find any detailed info online.

I have been searching the web for a pic of the actual impeller for this pump, but no luck at all. Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

This link works, above is the one I have.. I have no problems with it so far as being a submersible... The one you have is listed on the link below, I didn't know they made a needle wheel in that version.. I would just take it apart if you want to see what it looks like.. good luck. Jeff

I think this link works now. It's only $19.00 and has a needle wheel. The specs are a little vague and I have no idea what size skimmer it is typically for. For $19.00 I can’t imagine it would skim a 55 gallon aquarium. Any thoughts?

that pump would be more appropriate for skimming a 10-20g tank.
that is the pump they use on the new baby g skimmer by asm, it's on the front page of custom aquatic. they rate the skimmer for 75g, but i think they are on crack.
