So I have a 90 gallon with not much live rock in it but one of the pieces of live rock has coral on it. So my main question is I see alot of threads about people moving coral and such from 1 tank to another. What is the general waiting period for that move or is it able to be done within a day or so as long as there happens to be some type of bacteria from the first tank in the second tank.

Did you just pick up the live rock with the coral on it? If you just got the rock/coral acclimated to your 90 gallon I would personally wait a while before moving it again. Don't want to give the coral undue stress.

I currently run three different tanks and find myself moving corals and emerald crabs around from time to time. No ill effects as of yet as I try and keep all three systems equal as far as water chemistry goes.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Alex

well thats the thing the live rock in the 90 was given to me over a month ago and I just snagged a cube that I want to put all of it in I was thinkin perhaps 50 / 50 new water and old water but not sure if that would stress them out

I've done tank upgrades a few times and I'd say the easiest way is to just move everything over to the new tank and yes try and put as much of the water from the old system into the new tank. I've upgraded from as small as a 3 gallon to a 5.5 gallon without any problems or issues.

Very easy, just take your time and everything should go fine.

I switched my 29gal over to a 75 and added sand and live rock with no problem but a small cycle. I had a algae out break for about 2 weeks, I think I have it under control now.
