About a year and a half ago I decided to break down my reef tank and sell everything off due to money issues. Now, with my finances a little more stable I've decided to start another small reef.
This is the beginning of my new 20L. Nothing fancy, just trying to do this as inexspensive as possible.

Bought the tank and stand used from CL ($25)

I made this foam wall and decided not to use it at the last minute.

Lighting it with 4X24W T-5's retro'd into my diy hood.

Nice shots also. Imo i would remove those asternia stars as i saw them. But of course there are different opinions on them. What camera do you use?

Thanks! I'm using a canon xsi with a canon 60mm 2.8 macro lens.
Yeah, those little guys are all over. Not quite sure what to do about them.

Sweet ive been thinking of either buying that or the t1i. As for the stars i would try to get rid of as many as you can especially if they chill by your corals. Look at night and see if there munching away. I never had them but I'm sure people could tell you more about them.

I wen't from a 20D to the xsi, although some might think it's a step in the wrong direction, I feel that this camera fits me a little better than the 20D.
T1i is a very nice camera, might wait a little bit for the T2i http://www.canonfilmmakers.com/2010/02/canon550d-rebel-t2i-release-date-and.html
You could also pick a good used 40D for a pretty reasonable price. Can you tell I'm a Canon fan lol! Just make sure you buy good glass.
I'll keep my eye on the little stars, if they look to be getting nasty, I'll pull out as many as I can and possibly get a harlequin shrimp.

Good idea. I forgot about the shrimp. Thanks for the heads up on the camera btw. I actually had a nikon but had to sell it, and defiantly wanting to try out cannon after hearing great things from a lot of ppl.

You got that for 25$ If I could fine one for that price I would buy it. That is so cool! I'm thinking of getting back in the hobby too and want to go with a nano tank.
