Just a FYI reminder.....if your dog is heartworm POSITIVE, you do not want them taking Interceptor until they have had heartworm treatment with Immiticide. It is very important when keeping interceptor in a home with animals to keep it safe out of the way from your pets, and if giving it, make sure they are HW negative. Heartworm tests are usually performed once a year with yearly exams, then the dogs or cats put on prevention for the year (some folks only do 6 months prevention if they do not have mild winters). Also, heartworm isn't only in "outdoor" dogs....any dog that is exposed to mosquitos can get it. It takes a mosquito biting a heartworm positive dog to spread it to a heartworm negative dog on its next meal. I'm going to get my cats on prevention this month. Getting them on prevention + access to smaller tabs to treat newly acquired frags will be a bonus.
