Glueing my Frags down

I've glued many zoanthids this way with very good results. Not sure about the silk coral though.

If the silk coral is like a zenia (yes I'm ignorant here) then just use a piece of thread to tie it to a rock. It will attach itself in a day or two and be fine.

I have used super glue gel on hundreds of frags, no problems. You might want to use a different method for the silk coral. As long as you are gluing rock to rock, you will be safe. If you are trying to glue a stalk of the silk coral to rock, then you will have problems. If that is the case, there are other methods, toothpicks, wedding veil, fishing line, etc.

Guess it type too slow but this info. is for hard corals

Super glue gel or just super glue wont harm your tank. Gel seems to work better for some as it bonds quicker. if you are gluing the frag to a "small" piece of rock then the rock can be dried off where you want to glue it and will attach quickly . if your trying it under water it "seems" to take forever though thats why some like the putty they sell that you mix and then apply to the rock and the frag but that covers more of the frag and allot more of the rock and until it gets Coraline or coral growth over it does not look as nice as super glue gel will.

For soft corals I have superglued some to a rock and they took off and did fine but it's a pain and a better way is to put them in a small container with some rubble rock /sand and then some nylon netting over it to keep it in place it will then attach itself to the rock or if its like xenia then a rubber band arond a rock (provided it's not so tight that it cuts through it ) or wedging between two rocks has also worked.
