OK, i think i wanna get a single small goby for the 5.5

just to put a little more bio load in the tank.

but i dont know anything about goby's so what should i need to know...
what should we stay away from?

IM looking for the smallest i can find....

(i have to run it by her anyway cause its her tank)

will a gobie need to be fed? will it starve if not feed like normal fish?


maybe i should look at like a sand sifting star fish or something?

i want something to get behind the rocks, where i cant clean. but i dont want to have to feed a lot.

None of the sand sifting gobies are small enough to be happy in a 5.5 in my opinion at least not the ones avalable in the trade. Sand sifting starfish are also not a critter suited for smaller tanks and will very quickly consume the avalable nutrient in your sand and then starve.

A Clown Goby, Neon Goby or maybe a Hi Fin Red Banded Goby might be a suitable inhaditent for a 5.5g tank.

For cleaning the tank and turning the sand the Nassarius snails are a good choice.
