Going Bare Bottom

Have you done any testing to see if you had any changes in the water par.?
Every thing looks great. Did you have any losses with the moving of the rock work?
Did you have another container to hold your rock while you restacked?

I haven't done any testing yet, im pretty on top of water changes so I actually don't do a ton of testing. Just the occasional nitrate/ammonia test but I do keep tabs on the salt content.

No losses to report from the aquascaping adventure. I did use a big rubbermaid to move some of the rocks out. All of the loose/small frags were in a big Tupperware so I didn't crush or loose any of them. The frags that are up against the glass on the front will all be leaving to new homes sometime this week.

First, welcome to Bare Bottom Club... I hope you like it and you wont miss your white sand bottom.

Here is an idea. Why not put all the sand on a spare tank, then put a under gravel in there so that you can still have critters living in there and then put in inline with your main tank. It will serve as a sump, and at the same time detritus trap where critters can take care of it and you can vacuum it anytime you want. I just really like worms and what not on the gravel but been bare bottom ever since.

Thanks! =) I don't see myself missing the white sandy bottom anytime soon, its cause to much pain over the last couple year.... Haha! That's a pretty cool idea, I may have to try something like that someday, currently I don't really have the space for it.

So far i am loving the bare bottom though, I actually don't have a ton of space that is visible glass, but even what i have doesn't bother me at all. It kind of focuses the attention into the rock work and coral I think. No issues to report either with stuff building up where I can't get to it =)
