well I came home from work yesturday and decided it would be a good time to change the stand. I started by draining some water from the main into the 100 gal container and started to move the corals inafter I put a powerhead and heater in and continued to drain and this is where the problems started...
Most of the coral came out with no problems until I got to the Devils hand which connected itself to three different rocks,The Galaxae coral attached itself to the biggest and heaviest rock in the tank (30lbs) and my new rose was attached at three different points... ...
So the consensus was get my largest pump 1200gph,continue to drain all but two inches and lift and change stands... Well that went off very well , once the water was down to three or so inches 2 of us picked up the tank and my wife and neighbors son changed the stand and myself and my good freind Jeff set the stand down on the new stand and refilled the tank in uder 15 minutes... ...

Now the bad, I had no choice but to leave the corals and anemone,
Apparently the Rose bta didnt like this and sometime though the night it found my new Seio pump and manage to get under the foam I had there to protect it and got suck in... If you only knew the trouble I had just to get this Rose,it was unbeleiveable and now I dont have a Rose again... guess I was not meant to have one...

But, Thankfully all the other inhabitants seem to be well after there 20 minute ordeal... :(

Bummer on the anemone:doubt: Seems like powerheads are always their fate. I love your new stand and your tank is looking great. Congrats:)

you guys are not going to believe this,But its still alive!!!!!

When I found it 4:30 this morning I turned the powerhead off and waited until about 6 am to see if there was any movement and there was not.
I went ahead a gently pulled it out, I didnt want to tear it in peice's, I felt bad enough for it... Anyway after I removed it I waited for any movement at all and did not see anything... I put it in a plastic bag and then in a ziplock and tossed it in the can to be thrown out, well my daugther saw it in there and said, dad its moving... I said, Honey its impossible the rose is in the heaven now... anyway she insisted I look,
(she is a very persistant six year old)
Well, when I did I almost had a heart attack,it was moving. This Rose was just about dead on arrival,Has now gone threw a seio 1100 and has spent the last seven hours in the trash and is "ALIVE" !!!

I dont have proper lighting on my QT for an Anemone so I took an old hermit cage, drilled some holes in it ,glued some suction cups on and put it back in the main on the back wall with the lid to shade from the intense light from being that close to the top.
I have since added a large active carbon bag to the sump and have done one 10 gal pwc with another coming after dinner tonight and turned the skimmer up a little bit .
Is there anything else I can do for this Rose to help it along? although I have done enough to it already... I cant believe its alive...

Any suggestion will be welcome...

I would probably speak to Ilham (Elmo18) about it or ask Brian (slickdonkey) who just recently brought back his anemone from almost death what's the best way to go about it. Other than that, I'm happy that he is still alive:)

Here's Brian's thread about his anemone incase you want to browse through it to see if anything there helps you any:)

Wow.....I sure hope your anemone lives! Please keep us posted on it's progress. Hopefully it will make even after it's trauma. Sitting in a garbage can can't be much different than getting shipped. Pristine water conditions are a must to avoid infection. From posts that I have read in the past, during the healing process....if it accepts food....try feeding small, easily digestible foods like mysis shrimp. Also try very hard not to handle it as this will stress it out even more. Good luck and sorry I don't have much advise!

Here is a pic of the Rose

This is a pic of the Rose many hours after this train wreck started. There used to be about 30 or 40 tentacles and now there are about 10 not torn or punctured and there is a hole right though the anemone top to bottom and the foot is ripped in several places. The rose looks 900 times better than it did this morning... It seems to be puffed .
Also the mouth is still gaping.

Any input at this point would be helpful...

The rose has made it through the night, but,at times it looked like an overfilled balloon. This morning it looked like an anemone should ... almost... the mouth is still open somewhat and well Im not sure what I can do other than trying to feed
it which i dropped a very small peice of silverside on to the disc to see if it will eat. If it does not I will remove it gently and retry tomorrow.

Dude - that stand looks really nice - where did you get it from? I'm thinking of doing something simliar w/ mine soon.

On the RBTA - Sadly, I've been there before. Mine actually went into the PH as one, and came out as 4. They're suprisingly resiliant. Good luck.

Thanks for the stand kudo's... I actually built it myself, It cost me about $100 in materials. And about a month to build it because I could not stay with it every night... If your interested I could pm you a link to where I got the idea from,Its on another forum site and I dont remember if I could link it here.
One thing I like about this DIY is you can change anything you want... I changed the height from a standard 28inch to 34inch height, much better veiwing for my family.

The Rose is still there and the mouth is still gaping, I removed the silverside and tried some arctic pods and let them float down and they didnt stick to the anemone so its not ready to feed yet, I will try again tomorrow.

Rose bta update

Well now there is nothing for me to do except wait and see what happens.
Last night when I turned in ,I had one very damaged and stressed anemone, this morning, I now have two damaged and very stressed Rose anemone's... I guess I can hold off on todays trial feeding....
This really stinks...

Yes, I want the link Please. I really like the idea of making it a taller stand too b/c I'm always having to lean down to see everything in the tank.

You know, for what it's worth, I didn't feed my guy at all after he went through the powerhead. I figured the stomachs were all messed up anyways, so I just let 'em be and they healed fine with time.

If you look at the pic in the very first post you will see all the wires on the side of the tank... Here is a shot of the inside with the wires in there place now.

Rose anemone update w/pic

Seven days ago my Rose found its way into a Seio 1100 and lost... Anyway it seems to be healing ok but it still has not finished its split. You can see where its started but seems like it cant finish.
Do you think I should release it so it can attach to a rock so it can pull itself apart? any help or input would be helpful at this point.
