Tamarr fell in love with Picasso's when she saw one about 4 months ago. We debated about getting such expensive fish. I know expensive is a relative term, but for me, the term fits. Mario at Ocean Reef Aquatics was able to get a pair of them for us from ORA. I really like the pattern on these two. I'm so paranoid... I've checked water parameters twice today. I apologize for the sub-par photo skills.

Great looking pair! Are they hosting the seabae yet? I have not yet got a clown for mine. The first clown I had only survived a couple of days and never hosted. I then bought a pair along with an LTA they they were already hosting.

The Seabae looks a little bleached, may be just the photo. Feeding it small bits of shrimp or some mysid should help it recover if it is bleached.

Here are a couple picture of my seabae with the healthy coloration for comparison. The close up shows best it's true coloration.

This seabae was severely bleached when I got it, but a couple months of feeding brought it back to being healthy.

They are actually in different tanks right now. The picasso's are in "quarantine" and the sebae will have time to settle before it gets pestered. I'm not sure if the sebae is bleached or not... it seems typical of the ones I have seen at lfs's. It attached quickly, closed mouth, and is sticky. I'll definitely feed eat some mysis and I have some clams to give it. Thanks for posting your pics... yours looks awesome. Very healthy.

Great looking couple of fish. Are they already paired up?

Mario is a great asset to the community and looks like he took good care of you.

From what I have seen the seabaes are typically bleached when you see theam at the LFS. I do not know if the wholesalers purposely starve then to get the dramatic white with purple look or if this anemone just easily loses it zooxanthellae.

I think you will find that your seabae will stay attached pretty consistantly, mine is still attached to the same rock it attached to the first day, I have rearranged the tank several times and it just continues to cling to the same rock no matter where I put it. It is a very nice trait for an anemone, my LTA has moved around a lot and has tangled with the power heads a couple of times and recieved a "hair cut". In fact my LTA moved about 5 inches last night and has my clowns totally stressed out as it left their eggs exposed.

Glad to hear you have the clowns in QT. From my experience and what I have seen on this forum clowns can be touchy about the whole shipping process, but it seems if you can get them through the first few weeks they become very hardy. Having them in QT will give you the chance to treat them quickly if needed.

Congratulations on the aquisition, I think you will get a lot of enjoyment out of them. My clown pair and LTA are very fascinating to watch.

They are not paired yet. I don't know a lot about clowns, but I think you have to have 4 or more to get them to want to establish dominance. These are just little guys, but when they get older, I may do like salmonslayer and get some onyx clowns to get the dominance and pairing established.

I agree with you about Mario... he is a great asset. We are lucky to have such great lfs's on the peninsula.

I saw a couple of clowns on here that were almost as beautiful as yours and they were called snowflake clowns. I was wondering what the difference was. Have you heard of them? By the way I want your fish!!!!!!! They are georgeous.

I'm not sure what the difference is... I've also heard of jigsaw clowns. I think as the patterns on clowns start to differentiate, we'll start seeing a bunch of names. I bet we'll even see a cow clown someday. lol

Sweet looking picassos there Mike! Where about is that LFS you aquired them from?

It's in Poulsbo. If you ever make it over here, I suggest you check it out.

how's that anemone doing?

It looks good and hasn't moved from the rock I put it on. It did "deflate" last night, but I think they do that to adjust to the water in the new tank.

I was pretty nervous yesterday because I couldn't get the clowns to eat. I tried mysis, flake, and even a little bit of ORA's pelletts. The pellets and mysis seemed too big. The flakes were eaten by the bigger clown but immediately spit out. This morning I offered some cyclopleeze. The bigger clown started eating after a minute or so and finally the little clown got the hint. I think they were just settling in... getting the Security part of the 3 S's that Ilham preaches.

I also fed the sebae a few chunks of meat from "Rod's Food." It grabbed it right away and ate it within a few minutes.

I took some more pics of the clowns today. I wanted to compare them to day one to see if they have been darkening. So far, so good. I've also been working on my photography skills :) ... a little improvement. The color is truer in the 2nd pic.

Sadly the sebae did not make it... I am going to wait for a locally propogated RBTA. Right now the clowns seem content with the feather duster.

Lookin really good. Hopefully you can find a RBTA. Just beware of the wandering. =)
