Here he is, a bit dusty from just emerging for the day:

This doesn't show the occasional triangle or line he shows on his back, usually white at one end, yellow at the other.

He seems to be contentedly grazing something off one piece of LR, and nothing important is looking munched :)

Hi, Heidi.
Nice pic!
That may not be a nudibranch
:D

The white to yellow line you occasionally see running dorsally may actually be a portion of a normally-concealed shell, and all that blackness may be the mantle extending up over the hell --when the mantle doesn't quite cover everything up, you see that white triangle or slit.

Fissurellid snails (yours is probably Scutus antipodus) are very interesting reef tank residents. You're lucky to have one.

Here's a pic from this page on Scutus snails.

Yep, I've been so informed by the guy whose rock it probably rode in from. Ah well, at least I don't have to worry about toxicity or what it's eating now :)

So THAT'S what those are. I had one hitchhike into my tank awhile back and I'd see it about once a week. It was very cool looking!
